What is LoRa?

  • What is LoRa?

  • These days, reducing energy consumption and promoting its responsible use are two major issues for our society. To this end, Index+ wants to position itself as a player in the energy transition by offering a connected environment for your apartments, businesses or any technical installation requiring particular attention.

That’s why we are showcasing the use of the LoRa network, which allows you to connect your wildest dreams to our platform.

  • What is a LoRa network?

A LoRa network is a radio network that allows for the transfer of information from a connected object to a user platform.

Connected objects can be of various kinds and have different functions. There are, for example, energy meters, CO2 sensors, presence sensors and temperature sensors.

The LoRa network stands out from other radio networks thanks to the following advantages:

    • Long-range communication
    • Low battery consumption and long battery life
    • Use of a licence-free frequency band

The Index+ platform already makes it possible to use connected objects communicating in LoRa, as presented below in a non-exhaustive manner:

  • What is a private LoRa network?

Index+ installs its own “private LoRa” networks in order to monitor the meters and connected objects of your equipment.

The use of private networks makes it possible to drastically reduce the costs connected with the use of data and to make the connectivity of tomorrow accessible today.
